Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2 NIV
When I share my most challenging times in life, I realize that it was a result of losing my standards. I’ve always had a high regard for living ethically and doing what’s right, but there came a time when I no longer cared and I wanted to just live freely like everyone else.
What helped me most in “getting back on track” was remembering the high standards in my life and going back to them. I realized that my attitude towards myself and my life had to change for my life to change. I needed a renewing of my mind.
If you too have found yourself at a place where it’s time to elevate to your next level and make some changes then you too could benefit from a renewal of the mind.
1. Create a winning attitude.
You control your attitude and your attitude controls your altitude. You can only so far with a negative attitude but you can go farther with a positive one! Wherever you are today is because you chose to be there and if you want to be somewhere else you have to make a choice, TODAY.
2. Create a positive self-image.
We can’t just think something and expect for it happen. We need to have faith in ourselves a belief that we truly are what we say we are and we are truly capable of what we believe ourselves to be capable of. So what you made some mistakes, the greatest of people do but you have to continuously keep believing. We are in charge of our own lives and once we accept that power, we can create those changes.
3. Set your standards high.
Everything you do, do to the best of your ability. What good is your life to just do lazily, with no enthusiasm, and no purpose for doing it? In everything you do let it serve a purpose and remind yourself that you have a divine mandate to operate in excellence and nothing less!
Sound like you have a lot of work to do? Yea, you do! Understand that you can’t operate the way the world does because you have a calling to go higher and greater. The world can pressure us to conform to it’s attitudes and ways, but we have to realize that we are set apart. We have to make choices and most times that requires the sacrifice of not doing what we see others doing or going where they are going.
We have to take a deeper respect for ourselves and deeper respect for the God we serve. That means acknowledging God’s standard and making it important in our lives.
